"The open floor plan is inspirational. We noticed the blood, sweat & tears that must have gone into designing and building here. The ceiling, closets, hammock hut, bathrooms... WOW! Not to mention the gardening and what it took to put in the driveway and the secret garden path! Such a special place!"

VIEWS
& GARDENS

Perched 60 meters above sea level on a hilltop, Villa
Toucan constantly enjoys cooling ocean breezes in
the daytime and sometimes very cool mountain air at nighttime. The
ocean and forest views offer perfect vantage points for wildlife
observation, in particular bird watching. On average,
visitors can expect to see several dozen toucans everyday as well
as the intriguing Orenpendula de Montezuma and numerous species of
other birds.

In front of the house is an outdoor
terrace where guests enjoy the electrifying energy
of the morning sunrise and evening sunsets as the monkeys, toucans,
parrots and other wildlife rejoice - sometimes very loudly. We have
also recently added a new "hammock
hut" were you will enjoy relaxing and an outdoor brick BBQ for grilling your favorite foods! A nearby herb garden offers a well stocked variety of local herbs and spicy peppers.
The exotic gardens on
the property include a collection of tropical plants many people never
knew existed. The owners are passionate lovers of gardening and the
results are evident. You will encounter hundreds of palms, bromeliads,
orchids and heliconias, over 20 types of exotic fruit
trees, pineapple plantations, several different types
of bananas and much more. Whenever fruits are in season, complimentary
samples are always offered to our guests - make sure you ask us!
