The closest airport to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is the Limon airport.

WE recommend Nature Air from Tobias Bolanos Airport in San Jose or other destinations from within Costa Rica.  Once here, we highly recommend renting a car - consider POAS Rentals whom have an office in Puerto Viejo.

1. From San Jose, ask for the road to Limon. If you have never been through San Jose, we recommend following a taxi until it can lead you to the Limon highway.
2. When you reach Limon take the road leading to Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and Sixaola.
3. Go past Cahuita and go through the Bribri / Sixaola intersection.  The road now begins to deterioate (gravel and potholes).
4. When you arrive in Puerto Viejo, follow the same road that leads to Punta Uva - Manzanillo.
5. Approximately 7 kilometers you will pass by the Hotel Suerre on your left .
6. Continue approximately 300 yards and look on your right for a small trash receptacle with a palm thatched roof. Turn right here.
7. Villa Toucan is 800 yards in at the end of the road and up two steep hills with the cement strips.
